Professional Experience

Nikki is an experienced transactional attorney that achieves fulfilling, creative outcomes for her clients through an approach that is individualized, thoughtful and client-centered. She values understanding her clients’ goals and desires through attentive listening and providing knowledgeable and practical expertise to guide them through the process of achieving their aims. Her diverse practice is centered on advising clients that are oriented toward growth, whether personal or business.


Before founding Patterick Law, Nikki practiced law in a variety of settings. She had the privilege of working at the following esteemed law firms: Cooley LLP, a large, international law firm; Kendall, Koenig and Oelsner PC, a boutique corporate transactional and business law firm; and Koupal Law Firm, PC, a firm dedicated solely to family formation, assisted reproductive technology, adoption, and estate planning. Nikki also has experience as an in-house attorney through assisting multiple clients for extended periods of time by working remotely and/or on-site as part her client’s in-house legal team.  Before entering private practice, Nikki served as a judicial law clerk for Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs, Jr.


Nikki is a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, which is a professional organization committed to advancing the practice of assisted reproductive technology law and protecting the interests of the parties involved in assisted reproductive technology matters.


Education

Nikki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Women’s Studies from the University of Texas, where she graduated with honors. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review. During law school, Nikki won the American Bar Association Law Student Division Client Counseling Competition and served as a Judicial Intern for Judge Blanche Manning at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Nikki has been admitted to practice law in Colorado since 2003.  She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association & the American Bar Association.
